Employers are expected to have an understanding about the idea of diversity which should start at the top of every organization. It should also be a commitment by the upper management to align diversity efforts with their business strategies and goals. It is the predominant duty of the upper management and HR to create a diverse workplace. The focus of creating a diverse workforce cannot be forgotten during the hiring process, which is considered to be the first step. Enough care should be taken to make the advertisements neutral and without any bias to attract candidates of various backgrounds and culture. While recruiting from different resources beyond the geographical limit, the HR should focus on the job requirements, skills and qualifications of a particular candidate.
